Here’s a wider view if Utah’s iconic Delicate Arch, bathed in the last few minutes of daylight on a stormy day last October. Just beyond the arch, the sandstone drops abruptly, falling hundreds of feet almost straight down. In front of the arch lies an immense bowl, approximately 100 feet deep. The walls of the bowl are much steeper than they appear in this photo—too steep to walk down.
